ADDICTION SUCKS! Here are the characteristics of addiction. see if SUGAR (or processed foods in general) qualifies as an addiction for you.

"Just have a little," he said.

"Come on, it's your birthday," they said.

"You can start that diet tomorrow," she said.

BUT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I KNOW - ADDICTION SUCKS!

Here are the characteristics of addiction... see if SUGAR (or processed foods in general) qualifies as an addiction for you... 

Addiction Sucks

1. Compulsive Use: Addictive behaviors typically involve a strong compulsion or urge to engage in the activity or consume the substance, often resulting in difficulty controlling or stopping the behavior.

2. Loss of Control: A diminished ability to regulate or moderate their engagement in the behavior or substance, leading to excessive or prolonged use even when the person wants to stop.

3. Dependence and Withdrawal: Physical or psychological dependence is characterized by experiencing withdrawal symptoms, such as cravings, irritability, or anxiety, when the behavior or substance is discontinued or reduced.

4. Tolerance: Over time, individuals may develop tolerance to the behavior or substance, requiring larger amounts or more frequent engagement to achieve the same desired effect or level of satisfaction.

5. Negative Impact: Addictive behaviors often have adverse effects on various aspects of a person's life, such as relationships, work or school performance, physical health, and emotional well-being.

6. Continued Use Despite Negative Consequences: Despite experiencing negative consequences, individuals struggling with addiction may persist in the behavior or substance use, often making promises and excuses.

7. Interference with Daily Functioning: Addictive behaviors can disrupt an individual's ability to fulfill their responsibilities, obligations, or engage in activities they once enjoyed, leading to a significant impairment in daily functioning.

With 85% of chronic illness being related to what we eat... it only makes sense to address anything any addiction issues so we can make better choices for ourselves and our families.
